Getting Married in the Eternal City

A Destination Wedding Storytelling in Rome

Imagine saying “I do” amidst the splendor of Rome, where every street and landmark breathes romance and history. This unforgettable destination wedding embodied the spirit of the Eternal City, captured from the preparations to the grand finale with a reception over the Roman sunset. Each moment of the wedding day was immortalized, blending the timeless beauty of Rome with the magic of a wedding ceremony through a combination of wedding photography and videography techniques.

The First Look and wedding pictures in Rome

The wedding day started with the first look out on a beautiful terrace overlooking eye level with the roman rooftops. A splendid place to join together after getting ready and begin hand in hand the Rome wedding photography and videography together.

Parco del Pincio in Villa Borghese, was our first stop for the bride and groom shots. Location chosen for its sweeping views of the city below, but also as a tribute to the wedding proposal which happened here some years back during the Engagement photoshoot! Surrounded by the lush greenery and golden morning light, they shared a private moment again, perfectly captured on camera. The joy on their faces and the beauty of the surroundings made these portraits pure magic, a timeless testament to their love story.

Saint Peter’s square in the Vatican. Next, we drove to the Vatican City for portraits in Saint Peter’s Square. Against the grandeur of St. Peter’s Basilica, the bride and groom stood hand in hand, photographed by the majestic columns and fountains. Here, our videographer created breathtaking footage, adding a sense of reverence and grandeur to the story of the day.

The fire of the Cannon from the Janiculum Hill: A Unique Experience!

With perfect timing, we made it to Piazzale Garibaldi on the Janiculum Hill just before noon to witness a truly unique remarkable Roman tradition—a cannon fire at precisely 12:00 pm in the afternoon which was used in antiquity to synchronize the city’s church bells. The bride and groom squeezed in together with the crowd waiting to watch and to HEAR the cannon’s echo fill the sky. With the wedding photographer and the videographer ready to capture the dramatic moment as everyone cheered. With the city of Rome church bell towers going off thereafter joining in in celebration! This iconic experience added a one-of-a-kind memory to wedding day, embodying the spirit of Rome’s enduring traditions.

Romantic Moments at the Fontanone Water Fountain. Lastly, after the thrill of Janiculum Hill, the day continued with romantic photos at Fontanone, also known as the Acqua Paola Fountain. With its cascading water and breathtaking views over the city, Fontanone provided a serene, almost ethereal backdrop. Our photographers focused on the couple’s loving connection as they shared intimate moments here, perfectly contrasted by the powerful beauty of the fountain and the stunning Rome cityscape backdrop!

Final wedding preparations

We then went back to the Hotel for some final wedding preparations before the big moment! Joining with the wedding party to capture getting ready pictures with friends and family. With the wedding photographer and videography capturing the excitement and love in every detail—from the elegant dress to the hand-tied bouquet. The moments were intimate, capturing the quiet anticipation before the epic evening that lay ahead!

Family Photos at the Colosseum

As the afternoon unfolded, we arrived at the Colosseum for friends and family photos, a monumental stop that added historical grandeur to the day’s imagery. The iconic amphitheater, with its towering arches and ancient stones, created a powerful setting for group portraits. The friends and family, radiant with joy, stood with the newlyweds, capturing memories of their time together in Rome through both photos and video.

A Sunset Wedding overlooking the Roman Skyline

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the ancient ruins, the wedding couple stood hand in hand on the terrace, surrounded by the timeless beauty of Rome. With the iconic Roman Forum stretching out before them, they exchanged vows in a symbolic ceremony that was as intimate as it was breathtaking. The soft glow of sunset bathed the scene, and their whispered promises seemed to meld with the ancient stones below, creating a timeless bond between them and the eternal city. Each moment, captured by camera, held the essence of romance, love, and the magic of Rome at dusk.

Wedding Reception

The day concluded with an unforgettable reception at the Hotel Forum, known for its views over the Roman Forum. As the sun dipped below the skyline, casting a golden glow over ancient ruins, the bride and groom shared a toast with their loved ones. The view was a breathtaking finale to the day’s events, made even more special as it was all captured in a stunning blend of photography and videography which will stand the test of time for generations to come.
