It was an unforgettable afternoon that began with a surprise by the lake, continued with a scenic walk to Pincio Terrace, and ended with a golden hour sunset finale at the iconic Roman Colosseum. The Proposal at Villa Borghese Lake
The magic began at Villa Borghese Lake, an idyllic spot nestled in the lush greenery of one of Rome’s largest parks. The couple reached the lake by car service and entered the park through the Arco di Settimio Severo gate. The afternoon sunlight filtered through the trees, casting a soft glow as they walked towards the picturesque Temple of Aesculapius, a stunning neoclassical temple that stands in the middle of the lake.
Unbeknownst to the soon-to-be-fiancée, a photographer was present, ready to capture every moment! As they arrived on the more private and scenic locations, he reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring. Her expression turned into joy as he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Her reaction was priceless: a mix of shock, laughter, and happiness. Of course, she said “Yes!” and the two embraced as the photographer captured every candid, heartfelt moment from afar!
A Romantic Stroll to the Pincio Terrace outlook
After the excitement of the proposal, the newly engaged couple took a romantic walk through Villa Borghese park heading to the Pincio Terrace, a spot famous for its panoramic views of Rome. As they made their way, they passed through beautifully landscaped gardens and quiet corners perfect for a few more playful and romantic engagement photos in Rome.
At the terrace, the couple was greeted with a breathtaking view of the city below. The iconic dome of St. Peter’s Basilica in the distance, and the soft afternoon light made this spot feel almost magical. They paused for a few more photos, taking in the moment, and relishing in the thrill of their engagement as the photographer captured their joy against the stunning Roman skyline.
A Golden Hour Ending at the Roman Colosseum
As the sun began to set, the couple hopped into a car service, whisking them away to one of Rome’s most iconic landmarks: the Roman Colosseum. Arriving just in time for golden hour, a soft warm glow of light just before sunset.
